Decompression Theory

Overview

This course examines the theory, methods and procedures of planned staged decompression diving.

This course is designed as a stand alone course or it may be taught in conjunction with such TDI courses as Advanced Nitrox, Advanced Wreck or Extended range.

Course Objectives.

The objective of this course is to train divers how to plan and conduct a standard staged decompression dive not exceeding a maximum depth of 45 msw unless taught in conduction with the TDI Advanced Nitrox, Extended Range or the Advanced Wreck course. The most common requirements, gear set-ups, decompression techniques and decompression mixtures ( including oxygen and Nitrox) are all presented.

Diver Pre-Requisites.

  • Minimum age of 18 Minimum certification of diver (open water etc).
  • Minimum 25 open water dives.

Course Requirements.

  • Classroom session of 6 hours.
  • 6 Open water dives.
  • TDI written exam.

  • TDI certification.
  • TDI Professional instruction ( and you still get tea and biscuits).

Whats not included in the course?

  • Boat or Lake fees.
  • Dive Equipment ( can be hired from us at student rate).
  • Gas Fills.
